Roseanne Star Emma Kenney Reacts to ABC Show’s Cancellation

In one of the biggest shocks to rock the TV industry in recent memory, Roseanne has been canceled following Roseanne Barr's racist comments.

Even if the ABC comedy was to continue on for Season 11, it sounds like it would have been without some of the cast members.

Emma Kenney took to Twitter shortly after the ax swung and confirmed that she would be quitting the show after one season in the role of Harris Conner-Healy.

"I am hurt, embarrassed, and disappointed," Kenney shared.

"The racist and distasteful comments from Roseanne are inexcusable."

"As I called my manager to quit working on Roseanne, I found out the show got cancelled," the actress continued.

"I feel so empowered by @iamwandasykes, Channing Dungey and those at ABC standing up against abuse of power and lack of values. Bullies do not win. Ever."

Barr shocked the world with her racist comments, which took aim at Barack Obama's former advisor, Valerie Jarrett, who is black.

“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr shared.

“ISLAM is not a RACE, lefties. Islam includes EVERY RACE of people.”

The internet went into meltdown over the comments, and Barr quickly apologized.

"I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans," she began in her apology.

"I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."

ABC wasted no time in parting ways with the series following Consulting Producer Wanda Sykes' decision to exit the series.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” said Dungey in a statement.
