Jennifer explains to Cole that the Army of the 12 Monkeys was after her father's "great and shadowy laboratory filled with evening stars." She goes on to inform him that her father's teeny-tiny little secret is locked inside. Cole assumes this is the virus. We learn the Pallid Man murdered several scientists in front of her, this event drove Jennifer mad. She was spared thanks to the information trapped inside her mind. Elsewhere, Cassie arrived at her friend Jeremy's house to discover not just her dead friend, but his killer still in the house. The assassin had covered the body in flower petals to drown out the stench. Jeremy was killed because he was asking too many questions. Aaron brings Cassie a newspaper clipping from 2006 and there's Cole in North Korea with the address of the mental hospital in his possession. Naturally, Cassie makes her way there and has Cole released faking his medical records. When she mentions the lavender to Cole, he remembers that Jennifer mentioned the same thing. This was the same man, the face of the Army of the 12 Monkeys. Unfortunately, the man kidnaps Jennifer and Cole is powerless to stop him. Jones calls Cole back to 2043 where he relays the events that took place. She is not pleased Cole made contact with Dr. Railly again, but he asks her to trust him. The two come to an understanding. Meanwhile, the Pallid Man gives Jennifer something to drink bringing on visions of some sort. Is this to help jog her memory?
