After finding out that Max never finished high school, Caroline discovers that all her friend needs to do is take one test to get her diploma. So Caroline talks Max into studying like crazy and soon the two are on a bus to Max's old hometown.

Max takes the test and passes with flying colors and even agrees to put on a robe and graduate with the current class. 

But when Caroline suggests that Max call her mother to come to the ceremony, both of them are disappointed when her mom is a no-show. Not to fear though, Caroline also makes calls to the rest of Max's impromptu family and Oleg, Han, Sophie and Earl all arrive just in time to see Max's big accomplishment.
