Recap

Flashbacks show how Hen first became a paramedic firefighter.

After quitting her job as a pharmaceutical rep, Hen met with her life coach to discuss her career path and her coach has a heart attack. Hen does CPR, which a paramedic comments helped save the women's life and afterward Hen decides she wants to be a paramedic.

Hen makes it through the academy and is stationed at 118, much to the chagrin of Captain Gerrard, who sees it as a diversity hire.

Hen struggles to fit in with the men at the station, aside from Chimney who treats her with respect.

The responders are called to a mudslide and Hen goes against orders to bring excess water into the house to help loosen up the mud and free the woman who is trapped. In the process of this, she is introduced to Athena. Later, the captain calls her out for disobeying orders.

Hen meets Athena and two of her friends for drinks and is inspired to give an impassioned plea to the men at the firehouse. She is interrupted by a car accident in which a limo has flipped over. Hen quickly notices paint on the bumper and believes another car was involved in the accident, so she goes in search of it, again disobeying orders.

Chimney follows Hen and they find a car capsized in the water. Hen is able to rescue a young boy and resuscitate him.

Later, Hen is called to the captain's office in which she is told that her fellow co-workers have complained about Captain Gerrard's treatment of her and he is now being replaced.
