Coulson and Mack track down a woman, Agnes, who Radcliffe used as the model for Aida. 

Radcliffe, Aida and May are on the submarine with Anton Ivanov. Radcliffe plans to use Terrigen crystals to create an Inhuman that they can use to lure S.H.I.E.L.D. 

Simmons tells Director Mace that the serum that gives him his powers is potentially lethal. Mace wants to continue using it anyway, but Simmons tells him it's too risky. 

Coulson confronts Agnes about work she did with Radcliffe. Agnes doesn't want to talk, but then Coulson and Mack show her Aida.

Shockley releases the Terrigen crystals in Senator Nadeer's office in an attempt to turn her into an Inhuman, but instead, he undergoes Terrigenesis. Then, he explodes.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. team learns that Senator Nadeer died in the explosion. Agnes reveals that she used to date Radcliffe, and that she is suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. Mack wants to leave Agnes in peace, but Coulson insists she has to help them find Radcliffe. 

The team investigate Senator Nadeer's office and realize that while Shockley was on the surveillance footage, his body is not among the dead.

Coulson tells Agnes that Radcliffe kidnapped May and replaced her with an android. Daisy tracks down Shockley and interrogates him about Radcliffe's whereabouts. 

Radcliffe receives a message from Agnes and reveals to Aida that she is modeled on a real human. Fitz and Simmons discover the explosion was caused by an Inhuman, and realize it must have been Shockley. When confronted, Shockley explodes out of the quinjet.

Mace is upset that he couldn't fight Shockley without his powers. Fitz and Simmons propose that Daisy use her powers to nullify Shockley's. 

Radcliffe calls Agnes and tells her he can save her from death. Shockley confesses to Ivanov that he is an Inhuman,  but claims he can still deliver S.H.I.E.L.D. to him. 

Radcliffe convinces Agnes to come with him. Daisy tries to stop Shockley. Director Mace realizes that Shockley is bait in a trap designed to deliver S.H.I.E.L.D. to the Russians. 

Director Mace sacrifices himself and is taken captive by the Russians as the rest of the team escapes. Radcliffe and Aida help Agnes enter the framework they created to contain May. Coulson realizes that May must be in the framework as well. 

Aida tells Coulson that Agnes cannot be sustained within the framework, but Radcliffe claims her mind will live on. Aida takes a necklace from Agnes' neck as May sits in the framework nearby.
