Today on All My Children, Erica recounts the story of her humble beginnings and urges Carmen to believe that she herself has the inner power to turn her life around. After Carmen falls asleep, Erica begins working on trying to unlock her handcuffs.

Although appreciative, Jesse turns down Samuel's job offer. Samuel opens up to Jesse as he talks about his personal life. Samuel reflects on how lucky Jesse is to have such a caring family.

Colby and Frankie grow closer as friends while taking JR to the hospital to be examined by Angie. JR's condition takes a turn for the worse as his fever grows. Angie takes note of the area where JR's bone marrow was extracted and wants to do more tests.

Meanwhile, Richie can't hide his anger when Babe takes him to stay with Opal. Richie was under the impression he'd be living with Babe. Babe lays down the law with Richie, making it clear she's his friend and nothing else. Opal has a bad feeling about Richie.
