They're having a heatwave in California. Louise mentions at work they don't have air conditioning at home just before a rude customer calls Louise "these people."

Bonnie is shocked and after the customer leaves invites Louise and her family to her home for some swimming.

At the office, Diana askes about the Sr. Loan Officer position and Mr. Bishop says it's not looking good. He then proceeds to take her desk fan for himself.

At home, Kathleen is trying to brighten Diana's day by holding up the swimsuit they just bought for her, but she's down in the dumps. It gets worse when her mom comes home and isn't pleased to learn they'll be going to Bonnie's during the weekend to swim. Kathleen invites mom along, but Diana assures them both being out in the heat would be terrible for all of mom's internal and external organs and proceeds to pour herself some more wine.

When Bonnie tells the girls about Louise and her family coming over, Becca gets very smart with her mom. It gets worse when she's told she can't go to the beach with her friend. She wants to know if mom and dad are getting back together, too. That's never good.

Mom has come with the girls and complains that it's a bit chilly. That just starts what is one of the most horrifying days between Peggy insulting her daughter and Kathleen insulting Kathleen.

Bonnie wants to physically force Becca her daughter to go hang out with Louise's son.

At one point, Diana gets so upset with her mother she storms out leaving a bewildered Kathleen with Peggy since she wanted her there.

Diana ends up at a bar where a guy looks interested in her.

When Bonnie walks into the den she finds the kids making out, and she's fit to be tied. And, it gets worse from there.

Diana's fella wants to take her back to his place to get to know her better. She wants him to tell her what he really wants and what that means. He says it means to have sex. So that's what they do.

Meanwhile, Peggy is worrying and Kathleen assures her Diana is probably just blowing off some steam. She gets up and dressed, tells him her name is Diedra and leaves.

Bonnie talks with Becca. She messed up, but she's just trying to catch up with her daughter. Everything has been as hard on her as the girls.
