Denise meets Jeremy's fiance and it does not go well. They do not seem to like each other, and when Tonya questions Molly's health, their budding relationship takes a turn for the worse. Later, Denise realizes Molly is indeed sick, and rushes her to the emergency room.

Claudia Joy takes Emmalin to college. Michael thinks the family may be closer to her if he gets promoted to superintendent of West Point.

Joan considers retirement and she and Roland discuss another baby. However, her new assignment is a promotion to Garrison Commander. She is honored and takes the promotion and job, which keeps her on base. The job entails much more work than she anticipated and she tells Roland they will have to put off their plans for another baby.

Pamela is still on the police force, partnered with Boone. She is trying to decide between getting back together with Chase and taking a detective position in Atlanta. Boone throws a wrench in her plans when he tells her to stay in South Carolina, but with him. They kiss. Pamela now has three choices.

Roxy is paid a visit by Whit, the father of Finn. His own father has passed and he wanted to give some money to Roxy for Finn. Whit gets to see Finn, and Roxy and Whit share old times. TJ is in preteen hell, giving Roxy a horrible time. It makes her wish Trevor were not deployed and provides hesitation for her choice to be an army wife.
