Goames and Yvon question Cross but Cross sounds like a lunatic. He refuses to return to his family or the Hudson Bay Company. Cross starts to walk away but Goames knocks him out. Wendat braves lead the French party to the Iroquoi camp. Father Jerome wants to reason with the Iroquois. Jerome gets a hatchet in his head for his efforts. Trepagny, Bouchard, and Deputy Guy open fire, aided by their Wendat guides. Sell frees himself and purses the Iroquoi leader, who escapes. Mathilde explains her plans for the inn to Delphine and Renardette. Mathilde is ordered by Deferre to evict Goames, Yvon, and Cross from the inn. Renardette and Cross recognize each other. Melissand invades Trepagny's sanctum. Mari collects her things from the manor house. Bill Selby convinces the Iroquois to let Sel live. Sell convinces Bouchard and Trepagny to warn the people of Wobik about the Iroquois. Cooke suggests that Goames form an alliance with Selby instead of him. Cooke is angry with Duquet because Thom's body was found. Duquet turns the tables by asking Cooke what happened to the pistols he was supposed to supply to the Iroquois. A fearful Melissande tries to rent a room from Mathilde, who assures her that Trepagny will return safely. Melissande runs into Delphine. Delphine tells Melissande about her mark while Melissande informs Delphine about her stillborn child. Delphine beat the man who marked her to death with an axe handle. Cross pulls a body from the swamp. It's one of the settlers that were killed. Cross tells them he was to deliver a barrel of pistols to the Iroquois. Cookie is smitten with Delphine. Selby confronts Cooke about the pistols. Cooke points him to Cross then Selby orders him to find more pistols. Bouchard, Trepagny, and Sel return to Wobik.
