Five years ago, Cluemaster is thwarted by rookie agent, Sophie Moore.
In the present day, he escapes by killing his guard.
Sophie brings a celebratory bottle of tequila to Mary and Ryan's place to toast her five-year anniversary. Ryan is less than happy to find her there but joins them for some drinking games. As they reach the end of the bottle, Ryan realizes it was a gift. Cluemaster has left a message.
Alice is being tortured by Black Mask and Circe for Batwoman's identity. She escapes briefly and calls Jacob but he's deep into Snakebite and rejects her plea.
Sophie, Ryan, and Sophie solve the clue to find a woman being held on a target range. The woman is Cluemaster's daughter. They rescue her only to find a cryptogram written all over her body. They bring in Luke to help solve it and then go look for Cluemaster.
Ryan and Mary end up trapped on a bomb and when Sophie tells them she knows Ryan is Batwoman, Ryan sends her for equipment.
Mary confides that Sophie thinks Jacob is using Snakebite.
Sophie returns with the gear and Ryan saves Mary.
Stephanie knocks out Luke to go confront her father who tries to kill them both.
Alice figures out her captors are Roman and Circe Sionis. She offers to make Circe a new face.
Luke saves Stephanie and they kiss as her father is taken away by the EMTs.
Sophie and Ryan come clean with each other at the bar in the aftermath.
Alice applies the face to Circe after pointing out she knows that the real Circe died at Arkham. As she puts the face on Circe, she realizes that it's Kate.
Jacob is wheeled into Mary's clinic overdosing from Snakebite.
