Danny and Baez are called to the scene of a dead homeless man in the park, found by a jogger who knows nothing. Later, they find out that the jogger has f und three such bodies and that he ran for city council and believes homeless people are ruining the city.

Frank is upset that Garrett has told the press that the NYPD can do better. Garrett says that he can't exaggerate or it will make things worse. Frank says this will destroy morale and he wants it walked back. Garrett proceeds to ignore him because this is yesterday's news but Frank says it's a direct order and get it done. Garrett thinks this will make things worse.

Anthony is upset that a guy in a bar thought he was a mob boss -- and also tried to hire him to kill his wife.

Eddie wants to take a love language quiz. Jamie isn't interested.

Baez and Danny interview the jogger, who insists on recording the conversation himself. Danny thinks the guy killed the homeless people. He was jogging for two hours, supposedly, and of course runs alone. Danny ends the interview. He tells Baez the guy has a smart watch so they can get his location from his phone GPS,

Garrett continues the argument with Frank. Walking the comments back is wrong and his job is do to what he thinks is best for the department. Frank doesn't want to listen. Garrett insists he has changed and is being true to himself by not doing this. He storms out.

Anthony is set up for a wire. Danny interrupts. He exchanges words with Anthony but eventually tells Erin about his case. Danny feels a need to constantly call Anthony fat. Erin is annoyed.

Jamie observes Eddie using love language with some couple in the interrogation room. Jamie calls Eddie into the hall and asks her not to do this here. She says those two were at each other's throats when she first got to the scene. Social services was backed up so she gave them the quiz instead. Eddie gets mad.

Danny catches up with the jogger who accuses him of harassment. Danny gives him a search warrant and takes his phone.

The suspect meets with Anthony.  He says after 20 years of marriage things are falling apart. He got fat and lazy and stopped doing things with his wife. She's sleeping with his brother. The guy is crying and says he doesn't want to kill his wife he still loves her. Anthony tells the people watching everything is fine and tells the guy to pull himself together.

A tech looks at the phone. Baez reminds her they can only look at the fitness app. Danny gloats about getting one over on the jogger. Does Baez want to bet on whether they find something? The phone GPS shows he did run for 2.5 hours nonstop.

Sid and Abigail come to see Garrett. A newspaper editor has called. They want him to walk the comment back. Garrett doesn't want to be a liar anymore. Sid and Abigail tell him they support his authenticity journey but he still has to do what Frank wants.

Erin is annoyed that the UC operation went nowhere. Anthony feels bad for the guy. Erin wishes she had something to show for the surveillance. Danny interrupts. He doesn't want a new warrant. He wants to broaden the scope of the warrant. Erin is livid and kicks him out. (Where is Kim during this?)

Frank comes in. Garrett says please hear me out. Garrett tells him about all the changes he is making in his life. He says Frank likes things the old way and loves consistency. Frank puts a stop to his monologue. He doesn't dispute what Garrett is saying. He's right change can be good and that we can do better in some areas. But he needs Garrett to be his pit bull who he can sic on those who need to be chased off. He cannot reinvent his job description.

Sunday dinner. Thre is a lot of tension between Danny and Erin. Eddie is annoyed that Jamie makes a joke about Danny and Erin needing help with love languages. Henry wants to know what is going on. Everyone pretty much sides with Erin, except for Sean who is somewhat coerced. Frank says Danny will get what he wants eventually but not yet.

Danny and Baez meet in the squad. He has found out that Sandy from the homeless shelter has a history of mental illness. Baez doesn't think that means she had anything to do with Billy's death. The video of the jogger shows that Billy and Sandy were hugging.

Danny and Baez go to see Sandy. She recites the Miranda warning to them and confesses that the "bad one inside me" hurt Billy. She is arrested.

Anthony and Erin are staking out the guy's place. Anthony says they are helping people and making a difference. He sees the suspect and suspect's brother in a bar. Anthony goes in and confronts Jerome.  He tells him he should be ashamed of himself and leaves.

Eddie comes in and Jamie starts complimenting her. He has candles lit and flowers. He has prepared something for every love language. He didn't know which was hers so he tried to do all five. Eddie says maybe they should just start with English.

Garrett has a sealed envelope for Frank. Frank says no sealed envelopes. They talk. Frank says he doesn't want anyone besides Garett to ride shotgun. He wants to walk back his ultimatum.  They talk. Garrett says the envelope is a copy of his new comments to the editor.
