Jamie calls Coolidge in. Coolidge again pours it on thick about how lucky they are to have Jamie. Jamie tells him that he's been fingered as a bookie. He says that he can't pay back the debt for what Coolidge taught him but he thinks that Coolidge should stop being a bookie. Coolidge says Jamie forgot what probable cause is. Also he thinks Jamie should be more loyal to him.

Jamie comes to see Sid. Sid has the intel report and is upset that Coolidge's name on it. He says he worked with Coolidge and he's a hell of a cop. Jamie says he has respect for Coolidge but he is beating people up. Sid says Coolidge is a good cop whose wife is sick. Jamie is lucky and gets breaks so he should think about that before the report enters the system.

Danny is angry that Gates didn't tell him that his partner was killed the same way as the ADTs. That would explain why Gates is up here. Gates thinks he has a hell of an imagination.  Danny has a photo of the cartel leader. He thinks Gates wants to kill the guy. Gates says he is here to stop the shipment.

Garrett calls Sid in. They have a problem. The mayor has written an op-ed saying Frank is too soft on crime.

Gates apologizes to Danny who isn't interested. Gates tells him about his partner's death. Danny says there will be a time and place to catch the prick, but not now. Besides the guy could be in Mexico by now. Gates tells Danny to go to family dinner and he will work the case.

Jamie and Eddie talk. Jamie feels Sid was out of line. Eddie thinks not everything is black and white. Coolidge was a good cop who helped Jamie decide to become a cop. Jamie says Coolidge encouraged him to think about why he wanted to become a cop. Jamie wanted to help people. Eddie says if she owed a guy her career she would lose a lot of sleep before she put him away.

Danny tries to interrogate Lopez and gets nowhere. Gates brings in a fentanyl-laced sample of heroin and they threaten to make Lopez take it if he doesn't tell them where the shipment is.  Lopez gives up the address. Gates says he is taking Lopez back to Texas.

Sid is annoyed that Coolidge's name is still on the report. He thinks Coolidge never hurt anyone and this won't make Jamie popular. Jamie says that's not why he's here. Sid can't believe that Jamie is just like Frank.

The drugs are in a day care center. The kids are out so they are good to raid the place. Gates finds a little girl who didn't get out for some reason. He gets her evacuated.

There is a shootout in the basement. Danny shoots a guy for Dex.

Gates and Danny compliment each other and eat the powdered sugar they pretended was fentanyl. He and Gates go to get donuts together.

Jamie goes to see Coolidge who calls him a rat. The DA didn't press charges. Coolidge says your friend is the one who made those debts. He says he didn't lay hands on the kid. He knows where the line is and the other guys would have been more violent. Jamie asks how Coolidge's wife is. He heard that's why Coolidge is doing this. Coolidge says he worked his ass off and was never there. He figured the least he could do was try to be there for her now. She doesn't know he's doing this. Jamie wants to pay his wife's expenses. Coolidge says he can't take Jamie's money.  He hopes Jamie will stop by for a beer every once in a while.

Frank comes to see the mayor. Mayor says he was entitled to his opinion just lake Salter. Frank says again that the cop deserved the suspension. Chase calls him self-righteous and says he threw his own guy under the bus. Frank says he followed the rules. And that stops the other 35k cops from going off book. He says he doesn't go looking for fights with Chase. They decide to go out for drinks.
