Baez and Danny arrive at the scene of a homicide. Baez wonders if this is road rage. A woman starts running toward the victim. It turns out that the people running toward the victim are his wife and son.

Sean comes to see Jamie. He has a sociology project on women in the workplace. He wants to work with Eddie and do a ride-along. That way he can see what female cops go through. Jamie asks if Sean ran this by Danny. Sean says he did. Jamie will talk to the captain.

Frank visits with Lenny. Lenny wants Frank to be the senior VP of security for the NFL. Frank asks if he would have to have move. Lenny says no. So is Frank not saying no? Frank says he's just gathering info right now. Lenny thinks that Frank owes this to himself.

Baez has gotten the images back from the red light cam.  Baez thinks it is a drag racing situation. Danny doesn't. He thinks someone put a hit on the guy.

Garett and Sid discuss this with Frank. Frank wonders if there's a point where nothing surprises you anymore. Garrett says meanwhile the Times has some questions for him. Frank interrupts that he's been offered a job.  He says this is why he is distracted. Sid asks will Frank pick his lieutenants in this new job? He could be available. Gareett wants in too.  Frank changes the subject but Abigail says nice try. Abigail thinks that Frank is considering retiring so that Erin can run for DA. Frank says he never thought of it that way.

Danny and Baez go to the restaurant the delivery man worked for. The owner says he and Zayed were like brothers, but his SUV matches the murder vehicle. The owner doesn't want to talk to them any further but eventually says he was here working and will show them the security footage. He has a bed there too, for sleeping when he works late. Danny asks if he can search the vehicle. The guy lets him.

Sean interviews Witten and Eddie. Witten and Eddie say it's hard because they have to put on makeup and get salads for lunch. Sean eventually realizes they are putting him on. They finally get a call. Sean is excited. They are not.

The women tell Sean to stay in the car and go. Sean hears about a suspect and sees a guy matching the description walking down the street. He decides to follow him and text Eddie. Sean trips over a bike and makes a lot of noise. The guy punches him.

Danny is upset that no one told him. They should have known Sean didn't get permission. Danny is glad that Sean isn't dead.

Henry talks to Frank. Frank says part of the problem is that as long as he's PC Erin can't win a DA race. Henry says but they are the perfect people for the job. It's not a dynasty, it's a family business, a legacy. Frank doesn't want to talk to Erin. Henry suggests then he own that he wants this.

Nothing from CSU. Danny thinks Mohammed was covering his tracks. Baez doesn't. Danny says there are hundreds of late night phone calls between Zahid and Mohammed's wife. Baez is curious about Zahid's wife. Danny thought the wife seemed legit. Baez says that doesn't mean she didn't do it.

Sean wants to talk to Jamie. Jamie gives him 30 seconds. Sean apologizes. But he was just supposed to let that guy go? He's not a coward. He just did what any of them would have done. Jamie wonders if there was really a project. Sean just wanted to see what the cops do all day. Sean says Danny doesn't listen so he talks to Jamie instead. Jamie says he listens, but can be single minded. Sean asks if they arrested the guy. Jamie says yes.

Baez and Danny go to talk to Zahir's wife. They send her son out of the room and ask if there were any problems between them. Baez thinks Zahid has gone missing before. She says leave. This is an insult to his memory. Danny and Baez says she had motive, means, and opportunity. She says she was home and wants a lawyer.

Henry wonders why everyone is so quiet at dinner. Frank says maybe some people have things on their mind. Henry says he's talking about Frank's kids. Erin says she's fine. Danny isn't but doesn't want to talk about it. Neither does Jamie.  Danny won't pass cream to Eddie.  They start arguing about what happened. Frank thinks Sean is 18 and doesn't need permission. Sean says it was all on him. Henry laughs that the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Danny insists that he would never do that and that no one is on his side.

When Danny leaves, Erin is waiting for him. He doesn't want to talk. Erin tells him they all love and respect Danny. Danny says what are you getting at? She thinks he has a scorched Earth policy. She thinks he should leave his problems at the door when they are with family.

Danny and Baez question Maya and her lawyer won't let her talk.  Maya eventually says her husband was unhappy and suffocating her. She couldn't deal with him anymore. She wants to confess. Her lawyer says strike a deal first. She says she did it. She killed her husband.

Frank goes to see Erin and says he's the ghost of elections future. As PC he would be her invisible running mate on the monopoly on law enforcement ticket. She thinks he wants her to think running is a lost cause. He tells her he has been offered a job at the NFL. Erin tells him she is not an extension of him. Also she's not sure if she's running or not. She wishes she could help him. It's a hard choice.

Danny and Baez can't offer any deals. However, they have a question. They want to show her something. They have a plastic replica of the gun that was used. Maya says she remembers the gun now. Danny asks her to show them how she did it.  She demonstrates. Danny says it looks like she saw something she saw in a Western. She'd have broken her thumb if she held the gun that way. Danny doesn't think she shot any gun.She insists on signing her confession anyway.

Danny thinks maybe the son did it. Baez says they have no proof and would have to throw out the mom's confession. There's nothing they can do right now.

Danny and Baez visit the son while he is visiting his mom at Rikers. They show him security video of Maya in a small cell. He can't believe she'll go to prison for life. He says his dad was suffocating him and that he is nothing like him. He would never hurt his mom.  His dad lied and cheated and hit Maya. He wanted to protect her. Son admits he killed his dad.

Lenny comes to see Frank. He can have his staff with him and would have a seven-figure salary. Frank tells a story about Vonnegut and Heller. He also wants to know why Lenny is so into this. Lenny's feelings are hurt. Frank says this whole thing has him flailing. He feels the selfish thing for him would be to stay here where he's valuable. So he's staying here. Lenny is surprised. He says they are partners for life.

Jamie wants to talk to Danny. He says he grew up looking up to Danny. The hardest part after Joe died was Jamie comparing himself to Danny. He says Danny needs to bend toward Sean a little and walks away.

Sean is reading a book and Danny knocks on the door. He asks Sean if he wants to ride along on a hostage situation, but he's just joking. He wants to take him out for steaks and beers even though Sean is underage.
