On Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 4, Jamie finds himself caught between Frank and the letter of the law.

Jamie is called to the home of Wilson Ortega, a retired FBI agent and old friend of Frank's. Ortega's wife has been shot in the head and Jamie believes it is a suicide. However, there is a bloody shirt in the back room and forensic evidence suggesting Ortega pulled the trigger.

Frank wants to give his old friend the benefit of the doubt, especially after learning that Mrs. Ortega had a painful terminal illness. But Erin says that Ortega committed a crime and must answer for it and wants Jamie to convince Frank.

Meanwhile, Danny and Baez work a case where a young woman claims that she was beaten and raped at a hotel. The suspect, Mark Foreman, says that the girl flirted with him and made him feel good because he's going through a divorce and that he remembers nothing after meeting her. Natalie IDs Mark in a lineup and he is arrested but remembers nothing of the crime, and Danny's old friend Mike questions whether Mark really did anything.

Elsewhere, Erin wants Anthony to find her an unwinnable case and he does: six undocumented immigrants who won't talk to the cops about getting robbed because they're afraid of getting deported.
