On Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 5, Frank struggles to figure out how to best stand up for Detective Daniel Mackenzie, who was accused of using excessive force.

Protesters surround Mackenzie's home and accuse him of being a racist while he tries to get his young daughter into a car. Frank and Garett are both upset when they see footage of this, and Frank is determined to stand up for Mackenzie. A judge recommends Mackenzie be fired, which Frank doesn't go along with, but Mackenzie says that is not enough. He wants Frank to tell the justice system to leave him alone. When Frank can't do that, Mackenzie quits.

Meanwhile, Jamie suspects that his boss might be having an affair with a young rookie. Brooks acts entitled and doesn't follow rules, but Espinoza refuses to allow Jamie to discipline her and warns him he will be the one in trouble if he continues writing her up.

And Eddie goes undercover to try to catch a cult leader who is abusing young girls, while Danny and Maria try to find out who fatally shot a rap star's driver.
