Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 17 revolves around issues of trust.

When Frank suspends an officer who beat up a civilian during a stop-and-frisk operation, the union rep is upset. He thinks the officer is being punished for doing his job and wants Frank to reinstate the officer no questions asked. The officer, Jeff Lyons, is the union rep's son.

Frank knows he followed protocol, but wonders if he's become too much of an administrator, especially after witnessing another cop's upset after Sid dresses him down during a meeting. He decides to meet with the officers directly to hear their concerns.

Meanwhile, Danny and Baez's attempt to nail a gangster hits a snag when a medical examiner falsifies the results of an autopsy to protect him. Danny convinces the ME to come clean so he can protect her, putting her life in danger, while Baez teases Danny about being interested in the ME.

And finally, Erin and Anthony must work with a sociopath who is currently in jail in order to get a violent murderer off the streets, but he will only cooperate if he is allowed to go to the scene of the crime.

Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 17 Quotes

Frank: There's a cancer in my department? What's the offer?
Johnny: Reinstate him.
Frank: In exchange for what?
Johnny: The respect of the rank-and-file.

Anthony: The DA should know you can't rush a case like that.
Erin: That doesn't make any difference to the families of the victims.
Anthony: So we'll get Costa on something else.
Erin: Yeah, the next double homicide he commits.
Anthony: Hopefully not that.
