Jamie and Eddie get called to the scene when a woman is being stabbed. The assailant later goes after Jamie as he and Eddie get the victim to the hospital. Seeing that Jamie is injured, Detective Hoffman tells him to get medical attention and he'll transport the suspect. Instead he steals the collar for himself and laughs at Jamie later. Jamie decides to get even by stealing a collar from Hoffman.

Danny and Baez are called to a hate crime outside of a gay bar where they find the good samaritan who broke up the assault happens to be a fellow detective who has been hiding that he's gay. When he's outed, his own partner will no longer ride with him. Danny and Baez ride with each of the partners as they investigate the case.

Frank is asked to help save a Catholic school from being closed down by the diocese but the Cardinal is upset when Frank says that the church is behind the times on gay issues in a press conference. Frank is pushed to issue an apology but decides that it wouldn't be the right thing to do to the many gay and lesbian officers on his police force.
