Ella Hayes, assistant to Matilda King, the editor of Modern Fashion magazine is murdered. Kate Beckett once modeled for Matilda but decided to quit just as she was offered her big break. 

Ella was fired by Matilda but it turns out someone was sabotaging her work and another designer stole her designs. Turns out Julian was hoping to take Matilda's job and had been behind the sabotage. When Ella figured it out he killed her to keep his secret. 

Matilda gives Kate a wedding dress. When she tries it on she's struck by how her mother won't ever see her in it. 

Kate shares her sorrows with Rick. He asks if she wants to postpone the wedding. She says she wants to move it up to this Spring. They don't want to wait any longer than they have to to get married.
