Chicago Med Season 5 Episode 13 revolves around a violent 11-year-old who clearly needs psychiatric help.

Two young boys are brought into the hospital. The father, Gordon, says he choked out the older boy, Jamie. He says he had no choice. Jamie was beating up Dylan because Dylan took his iPad.

Choi and Noah think this is a case of child abuse, but after interviewing Jamie, Charles disagrees. He talks to the parents and talks to Jamie, who tries to attack him for no apparent reason. Charles thinks, and the parents agree, that Jamie needs to be in a residential setting to get help. However, neither private insurance nor Medicaid will cover the cost.

Charles has a solution, but it requires the parents to make a difficult choice.

Meanwhile, Natalie wonders what is going on with the mother of an infant. The mother seems to have no anxiety about her son's condition and insists on staying in the OR with him during an endoscopy.

And finally, Marcel has a hard time after he loses a patient, while Will is thrown when a client from the safe injection site turns out to be the surgeon operating on his patient.
