Chicago Med Season 7 Episode 16 revolves around taking risks and making decisions.

When a patient with long COVID comes into the hospital, he is reluctant to take yet another CT scan. The pulmonologist says they can skip it since the patient has been in the hospital several times and Will concurs. However, Rudy's condition gets worse, leaving Will feeling remorseful about his decision. Later, the doctors make a diagnosis, but to fix it Rudy will have to have a risky surgery.

Meanwhile, Marcel is upset when a 10-day old baby comes into the ER needing a new set of intestines due to a birth defect. If they can't get donated organs quickly, the baby will die. Meanwhile, a pregnant woman comes into the ER after a car accident. She is braindead, but the baby is possibly viable, leaving the woman's parents to make a difficult decision.

Finally, Vanessa and Charles work with an Indian woman who appears to be having psychosomatic symptoms while preparing for her daughter's upcoming nuptials to a man she has never met in person before, as it is an arranged marriage.
