Chicago Med Season 7 Episode 4 revolves around misdiagnoses and misread signals.

When Scott gets a call from a woman he knows, he rushes to the scene. A young Black man, Roland, is having what may be a psychotic episode and is screaming and pushing his mother away. The cops show up and draw their guns but Scott somehow convinces them to stand down and let him deal with his patient. Scott calms Roland down enough for Roland to let him take him to the hospital.

At the hospital, Charles examines Roland and becomes more and more convinces that Roland does not have schizophrenia.

Meanwhile, Stevie and Vanessa see a patient who was diagnosed with a type of brain cancer 30 years ago. She is having seizures and has another tumor. She doesn't want a biopsy as every time she has one it causes minor issues for her. After they examine her, Stevie tells Vanessa she doesn't think this woman has cancer, as the type she was diagnosed with is fatal and she's lived for 30 years with it.

Finally, Will may get in over his head with the undercover operation while Vanessa seems to be developing a crush on Dr. Marcel.
