Chicago Med Season 8 Episode 11 revolves around standing up for patient rights.

When a patient comes into the hospital with substantial drug history and claims of extreme pain, an AI program flags her as a drug abuser. Asher has a sense this is not correct and asks Archer for a second opinion. Archer examines the patient and thinks she is high right now. However, after Jodi suffers a seizure, he runs tests and discovers she has a small tumor in her lung.

Asher is upset. Jodi might have been sent home without treatment because of the false flag. She lobbies Sharon to have the program removed and tells Archer privately that the AI also flagged her as an addict. She feels that no matter how much sober time she has, she will never escape her past.

Meanwhile, Will's patient has a gunshot wound he doesn't want to talk about. Will and Maggie report it to the police, who immediately conclude Aaron is the shooter in a robbery-homicide. Aaron claims to be innocent and doesn't want life-saving surgery because he doesn't want the cops to seize the bullet.
