Nathaniel is struggling with Rebecca and Greg together, he still wants her back somehow. He realizes that Maya is in the same boat, a girl she went on a few dates with ghosted her and found someone else. 

Nathaniel decides that he needs to watch some romantic comedies to pick up some tips on how to win Rebecca back. Instead, he ends up going through a daydream of him being in a rom com. He is the nerdy guy who teams up with Maya to win back their girlfriends together, who are with their significant others that don't deserve them. 

They go through the event to cause Rebecca and Maya's girlfriend to be jealous, they plan out their big finish after they confirm that it worked. Along the way, Nathaniel thinks he is interested in Maya, but when he goes to convince her to be together, she becomes Rebecca. Turns out he was falling in love with the real her in his fantasy and she tells him that he has to let her go. 

He breaks out of his daydream and goes to tell Rebecca that he knows about her and Greg and that he just wants her to be happy. She is shocked by how supportive he is being and they end on a good note, with Greg then visiting Rebecca and her being happy.
