Two cyclists find a suitcase with a body in it in Naples, Fla., the second such suitcase found there. The review board approves Reid's reinstatement. The condition of Reid's reinstatement is that he has to take 30 days off for every 90 days he works. A third suitcase is found near a bus stop. The unsub,whose mother left him, is a good-looking man who uses his pain to lure his victims. He's being taunted by visions of his dead grandmother. The unsub is becoming more reckless and violent, in part because of the BAU's presence. He kills a fourth victim, then snuggles up next to her. Other than the same color of lipstick, everything is different about this attack. The unsub asks out Helen, from the coffee shop where he used to work. He takes Helen to meet his grandmother. Garcia finds that the unsub, William Lynch, is the connection between the first three victims. Helen tries to leave but William won't let her. The BAU just missed William at the coffee shop. Reid doesn't think William's mother left him. Reid arrives first at the grandmother's house, and tells William that his mother was planning to take him away. His grandmother killed her in front of William. He gets William to break down and surrender. On the plane ride home, the team celebrates Reid's return and their new addition,Matt Simmons.
