The BAU takes up a case where a father has kidnapped his daughter, after he beats her would-be rapist date almost to death.  The team realizes that the father and daughter are close, and that their intent is to go to Mexico.  While briefing the team on the case, Hotch passes out from internal bleeding, as a result of old injuries caused by The Reaper, and for most of the episode doctors work to save his life.  Meanwhile, the father kills two other people to ensure his escape with his daughter.  The BAU eventually catches up to him and after his daughter convinces him to surrender, he finally gives up.
