On Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 3, the group travels to Seattle in 2042 when an anachronism appears.

This episode introduces Zari, the Muslim hackivist from the future with air-controlling powers, as she's being hunted by Kuasa, a water witch that was resurrected at the ending of the previous episode.

While in 2042, the Legends discover that all metahumans (including themselves) have been deemed illegal and unnatural, and A.R.G.U.S. is hunting them all down, experimenting on them, and locking them away in a military prison.

In charge of A.R.G.U.S. and the Metahuman Act of 2021 is the Time Bureau, Rip, and Agent Ava Sharpe who vows that the next time she finds Sara and her team, they're all going to be "exiled to the dawn of time."

In order for Zari to help the Legends, she makes them help break her brother out of a military prison, but once there, Jax sees the torture they're undergoing and releases every captive in the prison. However, Zari's brother wasn't there, she just used the Legends to find the amulet that allows her to use the air as her weapon.

Back in 1988, a young Ray Palmer finds a monster in a storm drain.
