Dominic Morgan, CEO of investment bank NYL, praises Massimo Ruggero, his head of trading, for his dealings based on unrest in Greece which brought in more than $250 million for NYL. While his team goes out to celebrate, Massimo talks with Dominic. Dominic informs Massimo that his promotion is in danger because his rival, racist Brit Ed Stuart, has more board-member support than him. When he arrives at the hotel bar, Massimo receives a note left for him, inviting him to a room upstairs. Blogger Sofia Flores accosts Massimo at the elevator but he brushes her off. Upstairs, Massimo receives a lap dance from a mysterious woman, who turns out to be his estranged wife Carrie. Once she's discovered, Carrie flees. Massimo thinks Ed is setting him up and works to sabotage Ed's Davenport deal. Massimo hires Oliver, a student recommended by old colleague Professor Wade, to be forensic work for him. Massimo searches for Carrie. Sofia confronts Massimo in the parking garage. He invites her over for dinner. Oliver reports what he's learned about Davenport and Carrie. Sofia's dinner with Massimo ends abruptly when she pushes too hard about Greece. Dominic holds a memorial service for his son John, killed in action in Basra three years earlier. Massimo drives Dominic's resentful wife Nina home. Oliver gets shunted to a lousy table where he can't electronically eavesdrop on Ed but he suspects John Davenport has a neurological condition. Massimo pressures Sofia, who is a member of the anarchist group Subterranea, to leak Davenport's condition. Oliver finds Carrie overdosing in a drug den. Davenport admits to the press he has Huntington's Disease. Dominic berates Massimo for lying to him about seeing Carri, which dooms Massimo's promotion. Massimo storms to Ed's office. Then Ed falls to his death.
