Initially, Peter's obsession with Brian's rope chew toy leads him to pester his dog in many ways. He even devolves into a Gollum type creature, then upgrades into Johnny Five, in order to secure the chew toy. He offers Brian a trade with everything but a fire truck toy that lights up and makes sounds when in motion. 

Peter eventually ties his own rope to Brian's rope and drives off with Brian still biting onto the chew toy. With both parties reluctant to give up, Peter press on the gas pedal and causes Brian to fly face first into a fire hydrant. Brian's face gets pulverized and he ends up looking like some sort of ant-eater or aardvarks. 

When Lois and Peter refuse to spend human money on him, Brian takes matters into his own hands.

He goes to cry to a bar, and coincidentally sits next to Quagmire. Quagmire takes pity on Brian and offers him his Dentist connect, with whom he already has an account. 

Brian gets cosmetic surgery under Quagmire's account and the resulting smile he dons has an outwardly effect that brightens everyone's day. The Starbucks barista flirts with him, the birds form a smile in his presence, and he even stumbles upon a job as a real estate agent. 

Brian initially makes a few sketchy sales to potential murders, but his knack of salesmanship leads to an offer for partner being placed on the tabe. All he has to do is sell a crappy condo.

When Brian sees the money Quagmire's recently come into, he manipulates him into buying the property. Brian's slick talking and slimy ways deceive the entire gang, and they all convince Quagmire to purchase the condo. Excited to see the property, Quagmire, Cleveland, Joe and Peter make there way over to the place. 

When Quagmire discovers that he's been duped, Joe tells him that according to state law he has 72 hours to back out of the transaction.

Brian hides from Quagmire as the countdown continues, and eventually they both go head to head. 

Quagmire is in the right for once and tries to give Brian a reality check. However, Brian's smooth talking ability allows him to run the clock out and laugh in Quagmire's face for getting one over on him. 

Quagmire doesn't take this well and bashes Brian's face in - reversing the effects of the cosmetic surgery and reverting him back to his aardvark state. 

The family makes fun of Brian for failing at a "safety net" job.
