Tabitha has dreams about the creatures, while Jade wakes up chained to his bed screaming. 

Frank is locked up in the office with Boyd, and Boyd tells him that he shouldn't take it personally, whatever happens, that night. 

Jade doesn't believe what Donna tells him about the town. He thinks he's being pranked and sets off to explore the town. 

Ethan continues to see the young boy in white outside. 

Victor spends time outside counting his steps from the house to the woods. 

Father Khatri comes to take the Matthews on a tour of the town, as they will have to choose whether they want to live in town or at the Colony House. 

Kevin tries to get Sara to stay home, but she insists on working at the diner, saying she needs help.

Father Khatri takes the Matthews around town, and he tells them more about the talisman and explains that the box is used as a form of punishment. A person will be locked away in the box overnight when their actions or negligence leads to the death of someone. He tells them tonight will be the first time it's been used. 

Khatri shows them Frank and Lauren's old house, where they would be living. 

Frank and Boyd are in the woods, as Frank wanted to go to Meagan's favorite spot in the woods before his night in the box. 

Jade talks to Kenny and still doesn't believe everything is real. He thinks he's playing a game. 

Ethan asks Victor about the boy in white, and Victor tells him that he's counting steps to see if the trees have moved. 

Boyd talks to Khatri about Frank and the box. He doesn't want Frank to go in the box, but Khatri tells him to use it.

Boyd tells Frank to take a talisman and try to make a life in the woods, but Frank thinks he deserves to go in the box. 

Jade, Tabitha, Jim, and Ethan chose to live in the town at the choosing ceremony, while Julie prefers Colony House. Afterward, Kenny shows Jade Toby's dead body. 

Frank goes into the box, and the creatures attack him.
