Recap

At the House of Black and White, Arya demands to start her training; sweeping the floors just won't do.

Jaqen H'ghar informs her "To serve well, a girl must become No One." Later on, Arya will toss her belongings in the harbor; all except Needle. But first, she watches a worshipper Jaqen gave water to from the fountain die and several followers carry his body away. Had Jaqen poisoned the man? If so, to what end?

A more pleasant kind of ceremony is taking place in King's Landing. The day had come for Tommen Baratheon to take Margaery Tyrell as his queen. Needless to say, the Queen Mother looked on with apprehension.

The couple wasted no time consummating their marriage, and Tommen claimed making love was all he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He confessed it was still strange being king as a result of Joffrey's death, though he felt no guilt. Margaery took the opportunity to do a little manipulating, and the next morning Tommen questioned Cersei about returning to Casterly Rock.

Naturally, Cersei has no intention of allowing Margaery to get the better of her. She visits the new queen, only to have Margaery ask if she should refer to her as Queen Mother or Dowager Queen. A gentle reminder Cersei is of lesser value to the king now. It's on! These two women will not rest until one of them is destroyed.

Enter the High Sparrow, whose followers had just paraded the High Septon naked through the streets. The man was caught at Littlefinger's brothel, you see. A sinner and perfect example of the corruption in King's Landing. Cersei visits the mysterious High Sparrow and is taken by the man. Will a successful partnership with this individual bring order to the city?

As the Boltons get comfortable in Winterfell, Roose informs his son, Ramsay, that he's found him a wife. This young woman in question will help solidify their hold on the North.

From a distance, Littlefinger and Sansa look down on Winterfell. He tells her she's going "home," and she instantly realizes the marriage proposal he mentioned was for her. Though furious with Lord Baelish, Sansa listens as he advises her to stop being the victim. "You loved your family. Avenge them." Unfortunately, poor Sansa has no idea what she is getting herself into.

Littlefinger and Sansa arrive at Winterfell and are welcomed by the Boltons. While walking to her room, a servant tells her "The North remembers."

Brienne has not forgotten her promise to Catelyn Stark. Though Sansa refused her help, she and Pod have been watching from a far. Will Sansa be strong enough to play her part, or will Brienne be forced to intervene? Brienne and Pod have a heart to heart. He talks of serving Tyrion, and she shares her story of Renly Baratheon. She promises to avenge him by killing Stannis.

Speaking of Stannis, Jon turns down the king's offer to become Lord of Winterfell. Castle Black is where he belongs now.

While handing out new assignments, Jon names Ser Alliser First Ranger. Janos Slynt is not pleased with his assignment and mocks Jon's leadership. Jon has the man taken to the chopping block and beheads him. It's doubtful any other crows will challenge him now.

Elsewhere, Tyrion and Varys argue over his safety. If Tyrion doesn't get some fresh air he's going to lose his mind. The two walk the Long Bridge of Volantis and end up at a brothel. Realizing he's not up to the task because of Shae, he wanders off to relieve himself. In no time, Tyrion finds himself bound and gagged by none other than Jorah Mormont.

Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 3 Quotes

Terrible things happen to your family and you weep. You sit alone in a darkened room mourning their fates. You've been a bystander to tragedy from the day they executed your father. Stop being a bystander, do you hear me? Stop running. There's no justice in the world. Not unless we make it. You loved your family, avenge them.

Littlefinger

Margaery: I want to know everything there is to know about King Tommen, first of his name.
Tommen: King Tommen... still sounds strange to me. Does Queen Margaery sound strange to you?
Margaery: So strange... husband.
Tommen: Wife. [both laugh] Sometimes it feels odd. I'm the king. I've married the most beautiful woman in the world. And it's all because my brother died.
Margaery: I understand, but it's not your fault. You know that, don't you? You mustn't feel guilty.
Tommen: I don't feel guilty. That's what's odd.
