Recap

Ramsay Bolton and his twenty men caused quite a bit of damage to Stannis' camp.

Unable to return to Castle Black or move forward, Stannis revisits Melisandre's recommendation to sacrifice Princess Shireen. However, he first sends Ser Davos personally back to Castle Black to replenish their supplies. Ser Davos bids the young princess farewell and gives her a small carved stag as a token of his gratitude.

Later, Stannis speaks to his daughter about the difficult choices kings are forced to make. Unaware of Melisandre's plan, the princess offers to help in any way she can. Sadly, she soon finds herself facing the stake and realizes she is to be sacrificed. Melisandre ignites the pyre as Shireen cries for her mother and father. At the last moment, Selyse runs toward her daughter but it is too late.

At the Wall, Jon Snow returns with the survivors of the Hardhome massacre. Though Ser Alliser hesitates for a moment, he finally orders the gates opened. Jon's brothers are not pleased watching the wildlings shuffle past. Ser Alliser tells Jon he has a good heart, but will be the death of them all.

Prince Doran, Ellaria, Trystane and Myrcella meet with Jaime Lannister. He informs the prince he entered Dorne secretly after receiving a threat; a viper with Myrcella's necklace in its jaws. Prince Doran understands Ellaria is behind this and remains committed to peace toasting young King Tommen. Ellaria defiantly spills her wine on the carpet.

Prince Doran informs Jaime that Myrcella will return to King's Landing, but he would like Prince Trystane to accompany her as well. He wishes to keep their engagement intact, and have Trystane take Oberyn's seat on the Small Council. Jaime agrees asking what is to become of his travel companion. Bronn gets off easy with a blow to the face, much like the one he gave Trystane when they met.

In Braavos, Arya continues her mission to poison the scoundrel in the marketplace. However, she spots Mace Tyrell and Meryn Trant who become her focus throughout the day.

Later at a brothel, the Kingsguard seems to recognize her. Arya watches from a far as Trant rejects several girls in favor of a "fresh one." He requests another young girl for the following evening. Will Arya take on that role and kill Trant? She returns to the House of Black and White and lies to Jaqen. The girl has learned to play his game.

Hizdahr suspiciously arrives late at the Great Pit. Was he orchestrating the events that take place later? Dany claps her hands and the games begin.

Though Hizdahr continues to argue in favor of tradition, Dany is clearly uncomfortable watching the proceedings. It isn't long before Jorah Mormont enters the arena stating "I fight and die for your glory, oh glorious Queen." Dany watches nervously as Jorah is struck by his opponents. Ultimately, he's the last man standing and turns to look at his queen.

Jorah suddenly throws a lance toward the stands killing a Harpy assassin. The Sons of the Harpy begin to materialize in the stands and all hell breaks loose. Though Daario and Jorah manage to protect Dany, they find themselves down in the pit and surrounded.

Incredibly outnumbered by the Harpys, Dany closes her eyes accepting this is the end. Fortunately, Drogon swoops in and burns the Sons of the Harpy to smithereens. The dragon is struck by several spears, and Dany pulls one from his side. Fearing for Drogon's life, she climbs on his back and tells him to fly.

From the ground everyone watches in amazement. Tyrion is particularly impressed and no doubt realizes this moment is a game changer.

Prince Doran: King Tommen insists on his sister's return to the capital.
Jaime: I'm afraid he does.
Prince Doran: I can not disobey my king's command. She will return with you to King's Landing and my son, Prince Trystane will accompany you both. If the alliance between the Iron Throne and Dorne is to continue, their engagement must stand.
Jaime: I accept.

I know your daughter had no part in the terrible thing that happened to the man I love. Perhaps, even you are innocent of that.
