Recap

A man's wife tells him he needs to take care of something for her as she has to work. As soon as she leaves, he drinks.

Garland's daughter has a slight fever so Garland has to work at home.

The man from before gets in a fight with some other construction workers. Someone hits him with a board.

Garland is trying to work but his daughter is making too much noise. There is a knock on the door. It is Charlie, the boy from the beginning. He says his dad is hurt. Garland takes his daughter and goes. He finds the man unconscious and calls an ambulance.

At the hospital, a doctor thinks Garland should call Benson. The neighbor doesn't want to talk to the police and neither does his wife, who takes him home. Benson agrees to look into this discreetly.

Fin and Kat go to talk to the foreman who thinks this is a lot of nothing but lets them see security footage.

Benson talks to the wife. Andy's injuries are not consistent with the security tapes.

Benson talks to Andy and promises not to tell his wife. If he was raped it could happen to someone else. He says this is a private matter and asks Benson to go but lets slip he was abused by a woman.

Benson talks to Garland. She thinks Andy was assaulted by his wife but there's nothing they can do about that.

They are searching for info about the wife when Carisi shows up with a copy of Rollins' dad's will. They tell Carisi about the case. He says there is no evidence. Carisi is surprised that Rollins is annoyed and Kat is on his side. He says his brother-in-law was assaulted by a woman so it's not like it can't happen but Kat is skeptical.

Benson comes to talk to Garland's wife. She says that the wife is cold and not part of their circle. When they set up play dates either Andy or the nanny drops Charlie off. Also Charlie is very clingy and shy.

The nanny is reluctant to talk but says Diana is high strung and she has heard things. She saw him crying the other day.

Rollins goes to see Diana and says that there being a minor in the house changes things. Diana says she has seen blood but doesn't think Andy is having an affair with a man. She says that Andy has been depressed and drinking and that he masturbates to porn while wearing a belt around his neck. She thinks maybe he injured himself.

There is a 911 call. Diana has a cut and says that Andy cut her with a knife. Andy is out of it and says whatever she says he did, he did.

Benson and Carisi don't know what to do. Charlie is too young to be a witness and his parents are lying to protect him. Benson worries the next call could be from the morgue.

Garland tries to talk to Charlie who doesn't want to talk.

Diana says this is not Andy's fault. He was drunk. She claims that Andy got upset because she told him he was drinking too much and that he yelled at her about talking to the cops and then he grabbed a knife. She doesn't want to press charges but Rollins says it's mandatory. She wants a lawyer.

Andy doesn't remember anything and says he did whatever she said he did. However, Charlie tells Garland that Mommy had an accident with a knife while Daddy was upstairs.

Rollins and Kat argue over who the victim is. Rollins and Carisi ask Diana about Charlie. Her lawyer insists this is a private manner.

Fin tells Andy what Charlie said and that Diana is setting him up.

Andy denies this is a problem. And anyway no one will believe him. Benson convinces him to press charges. But on the court date, Andy has a flask and doesn't think he can do this.

The trial begins anyway. The nanny testifies, but on cross the defense attorney focuses on her being undocumented and says she's angry at Diana for not sponsoring her.

The sexual assault nurse testifies next. The defense attorney tries to claim that it's possible the injuries were self-inflicted.

Benson testifies next and keeps emphasizing that Andy's covering up and not disclosing is normal. The defense attorney focuses on how Andy lied and refused to cooperate.

Kat feels guilty about not believing Andy. Anyway Andy has disappeared. Garland finds him in a bar drinking and taking pills. Andy says this keeps getting worse and worse.

Andy manages to sober up enough to testify (even though coffee doesn't really help people sober up.) He testifies that his wife is into BDSM and likes to tie him up and hit him. That night he passed out and he woke up to his wife penetrating him with a vibrator when he didn't want her to. He was too embarrassed to report it to anyone. He told the cops only after he was falsely accused of attacking his wife. He doesn't want his son to think it's okay to be abused.

The defense attorney tries to make it out as consensual. The judge allows him to ask if he was aroused by any of this. He says he didn't push her off because he didn't want to hurt her. Also he was drunk (can anyone bring up that that impairs his ability to consent?) The defense attorney claims this is just a marital conflict. Andy gets up and promptly faints.

Carisi is mad that Garland knew Andy was drunk. They might have lost the case. Andy tells Carisi he can't get back on the stand because his wife is furious and out of control.

The lawyers argue about whether there should be an adjournment. Andy says he is fine now. On the stand he says when his wife gets angry she becomes a different person who doesn't care who she hurts. He says his wife just texted him. The defense attorney tries again to get a recess. Judge says no. Carisi has Andy read the text aloud. It's verbally abusive and also in violation of the no contact order. Andy has 7 other texts.

Carisi practices his closing in an empty courtroom. The defense attorney comes in and applauds. He says Diana has expressed remorse and they should find a plea deal. Carisi wants her on the sex offender registry as well as her agreeing to support and no custody.  After giving her plea she tries to talk to Andy. Andy tells her she can see Charlie but he won't see her anymore.

I appreciate your concern. Nothing happened. There is no there here.

Andy

Doctor: Did he tell you how he got injured?
Garland: No, he was unconscious.
Doctor: He said he fell down some stairs.
Garland: And you think that's a cover?
Doctor: Without breaking confidentiality, I think you should have Captain Benson talk to him.
