Law & Order: SVU Season 17 Episode 21 revolves around a rape on a reality TV show. "Hearts Desire" is a show where a bunch of men and women live in a house together and go out on dates with each other and the men eliminate women from the contest each week. One of the women, Melanie, talks excitedly about her date but when footage is shown of her having sex she claims not to remember it and announces on national TV that she has been raped.

Rollins and Carisi see the show and ask Benson for permission to investigate. She reluctantly agrees. A standard rape investigation begins, though the director, Lizzie, tries to interfere. Soon, the executive producers, Jeff and Regina Prince, arrive and insist that nothing untoward happened. However, when a warrant is served they cooperate.

The investigation seems to hit a dead end until the Princes discover some missing footage. When the arrest of one of the men on the program is caught on camera, chaos ensues and more than one person is hung out to dry.
