Law & Order: SVU Season 19 Episode 2 continues the investigation into whether Benson is abusing her son, while the detectives try to figure out if a rape actually happened and who might have committed it.

When Savannah Ross walks into the SVU squad room to report her rape, Benson is absent because she is being questioned about how she treats Noah. Benson tries to explain what really happened but quickly gets upset when the DA asks her about seeing a therapist and about the way she beat Lewis almost to death after he kidnapped her. Benson gives an impassioned speech about how surviving her kidnapping meant living to the fullest, including adopting Noah, and that she didn't do anything but get distracted for a second. The session is interrupted by Fin calling about the case.

Savannah tells Rollins that a man wearing a Prince Charming mask broke into her apartment and made her shower after he raped her, then warned her to fix her window lock so that no one else could break in and hurt her. The rape happened two weeks ago. The investigation quickly leads to Savannah's former work place, where the detectives find out that she didn't tell them that she reported the rape to her boss at the time and then he took her to file a police report. A police detective thinks Savannah made the rape up.

Further investigation shows that Savannah has a history of crying rape when it will get her what she wants. Rollins thinks Savannah is playing them and when Benson disagrees, Rollins thinks maybe Benson isn't thinking clearly because of her own situation. Benson agrees and encourages Savannah to stop playing the victim, but soon another rape is reported with the exact same MO.

Savannah is no longer taking SVU's calls, and on top of that Benson learns an old friend may have betrayed her, leading to her current predicament.

The rape investigation leads the detectives to Tommy Williams, but he refuses to surrender to police.
