Law & Order: SVU Season 20 Episode 23 revolves around the rape of a Muslim councilwoman in a Jewish temple. The woman has been in the news recently for making remarks about Israel that have offended some Jewish people and claims the Jews set her up. In addition, an eyewitness claims to have seen two boys with MAGA hats running out of the synagogue and believes that the two boys were anti-Semites.

It turns out the truth is a lot more complicated. The boys did not rape the woman, were Jewish kids at a birthright Israel meeting, and hate the councilwoman because of her views on Israel. They also had an altercation with her outside her office. However, it turns out the councilwoman provoked them with anti-Semitic taunts and made sure a news crew was there to film it, leading Stone and Carisi to wonder whether the woman faked her rape too.

The investigation takes another turn, however, when the cops find out that the woman is secretly gay and goes to a bar at night sans hijab to meet her girlfriend, and that she is divorced from a devout Muslim man.

Law & Order: SVU Season 20 Episode 23 Quotes

Benson: You told my detectives you were set up. Why were you in the synagogue?
Nazar: I was lured there. By a man pretending to want peace. I was attacked by a Zionist.

I knew those two were up to no good. They had red hats, you know. MAGA. And they called me a kike.
