Law & Order: SVU Season 21 Episode 13 tevolves around some shady goings-on at the boxing ring.

Kat apparently boxes in her spare time, but when she goes to talk to her trainer she discovers the door locked and soon a young girl comes out of the office. Kat suspects something is going on and tries to find out but gets nowhere.

The fight is that night, and Kat takes the trainer's advice but loses it. The next morning, she tells Benson of her suspicions. Benson agrees to investigate.

An overeager Kat consistently gets in the way as Benson tries to methodically build a case. Worse, when Benson sends in and Rollins to talk to Romeo, they find Esperanza in a physical fight with him. She punches him and he hits his head.

Esperanza is taken to the police station, where her dad turns up and tells Kat to tell her to get a lawyer. Esperanza freaks out about him being there. Kat jumps the gun again and passes on the message. Benson drags her into her office and lectures her.

Romeo dies and Hadid charges Esperanza with manslaughter 2. She may be going away for 15 years. She insists Romeo did not touch her.

Kat is told not to go talk to Esperanza without Esperanza's lawyer present. Kat doesn't listen and Esperanza insinuates that her father abused her. Carisi hits the roof. So does Benson, who bars Kat from any more independent action on this case.

Benson and Kat talk to Esperanza and her lawyer. Esperanza admits to the abuse.

Rollins and Fin try to talk to Esperanza's sister at a homeless shelter, but Graciella won't testify unless she's given money.
