Law & Order: SVU Season 21 Episode 20 revolves around past cases that are not going so well now.

Carisi is preparing for Sir Toby Moore's trial, which has been delayed over and over. A former judge is representing Sir Toby and making the case in the media that he's the "real victim" and that women are lying about him because they want money and power.

Sir Toby never appears for a single court date, and his attorney constantly cites heart problems as a reason, but Carisi has his doubts that is true. Meanwhile, one of Carisi's witnesses is upset that the defense is using her sexual history against her, while the other wants to bow out because of pressure from her girlfriend, who sees the psychological toll the case is taking on her.

Meanwhile, Fin must revisit a past case involving domestic violence when the perp is released from prison after only six months, while Kat is called to the scene when Lakira, a transgender sex worker whose case she handled before, reports an assault on a fellow sex worker and believes the same perp is responsible. And Rollins must learn to dish out tough love when Ivy Bouche begins acting out and her mother turns to Rollins for help.
