Law & Order: SVU Season 22 Episode 6 revolves around the difficulty of prosecuting those who are in positions of power.

When a judge shockingly dismisses a rape case that he had no reason to dismiss, the defense attorney tells Benson and Carisi that he did it to jump start his race for Attorney General. Soon afterward, the team learns that the judge was in a fraternity with the defendant's uncle.

They talk to a mutual acquaintance, a civil rights lawyer who was also in the fraternity. He has been ashamed for 30 years that he knew Gallagher raped a woman and didn't come forward. The team talks to the woman, April, who dropped out of school afterward and doesn't think guys like Gallagher ever see justice.

SVU investigates and finds several women who claim Gallagher raped them, while Calhoun defends Gallagher and claims that SVU has a vendetta against him and is trying to destroy his career. Gallagher doesn't help his own case, threatening Carisi and pushing all his buttons.

SVU finds three women willing to testify, but one backs out after being threatened, weakening the case.
