Law & Order: SVU Season 23 Episode 6 celebrates the series' 500th episode with a story revolving around some old characters.

Amaro returns to SVU with a special request: he's working cold cases now and wants to reopen a case that Cragen closed 25 years ago. He believes the guy who confessed, Ian, is not guilty. Amaro has hooked up with a crime writer and podcaster, Burton, who is interested in the case... and who had a relationship with Benson when she was 16.

Benson begins to rekindle the flame with Burton as the case progresses. They quickly get DNA evidence and prove that Ian is innocent and a guy named Roger Murray is guilty. Murray confesses in court and Benson and Burton are about to go celebrate when a woman shows up out of nowhere and says that Burton raped her ten years ago.

Benson recuses herself but SVU investigates the case. Other women come forward and say while there was no rape, Burton pressured them. Benson discovers he groomed the women the same way he did to her as a teenager but gets angry when Amaro suggests she was a victim too.
