At the Salvatore School, the students prepared for Alaric's surprise party, with some flirtation between Jed and Ben. Instead of welcoming Alaric into the school with hugs and well-wishes, Hope crashed to make a deal. When the Super Squad turned Hope down, she broke Ben's bracelet, turning him back into a beacon for the monsters. Jed went with Ben to chain him up and spill his romantic feelings, but a terrifying clown ruined his speech with a bite. As more students were bitten, they were forced to face their greatest sins. Jed was brought back to the night he became a werewolf after killing his abusive father. He told Ben this afterward, before kissing him. Hope saw when she had to kill Landon, then confronted her humanity -- and surprise, her humanity did not disappear when Hope woke up. Cleo and Alaric killed the clown, releasing the school from its grip. Meanwhile, Lizzie and Aurora tracked down Jen, bickering their way down the road. When Lizzie attempted to therapize Aurora, Aurora fired right back, then left her, or pretended to. Aurora really followed Lizzie to Jen's where she branded Lizzie with the sign of a blood pact, binding them while they continue their god quest.
