Masked men abduct both Katsumoto and his ex-wife, Beth. She reads their demands to him on a videocall. Either he does what they order or Beth will die. A jogging Higgins recalls her talk about Magnum with Dr. Ogawa. Juliet goes to tell Thomas how she feels only to discover that Lia spent the night there. Magnum, T.C., and Rick wonder what's keeping Gordon. Katsumoto then calls Thomas and Juliet to meet him. Those holding Beth hostage want Gordon to kill his old partner, Shane Whelan, who is in protective custody.  While Katsumoto acts normally, they'll try to determine who's holding Beth. Suzy's water breaks. Based on Gordon's memories, Magnum and Higgins focus on an abandoned baking plant. But she's gone already and Beth gets shot in the arm as a punishment. Magnum asks Rick to get him a prison guard's uniform. Beth figures out that Katsumoto know the abductors' leader. An inmate recognizes Thomas. Suzy has a girl then starts hemorraging. Gordon confronts Whelan. He put a sedative in Whelan's coffee. The plan to smuggle out Whelan is stalled by a lockdown. Higgins guides them out. Whelan is set to testify against drug dealer Ray Nasano, who he double-crossed. Katsumoto offers to trade Whelan for Beth. They need to piece together the ambush at the exchange site, a quarry. Whelan tells Gordon that Pasano arranged his sister Kim's fatal overdose. After the exchange, Magnum takes down the sniper and uses his rifle. After his men fall, Pasano sets off an explosion and runs. Katsumoto chases him down and wounds him. Thomas stops Gordon from killing Pasano. Gordon is suspended indefinitely without pay and will probably lose his badge. After Suzy successfully comes through surgery, everyone meets Joy Frankie. Thomas and Juliet admit their feelings for each other and kiss.
