Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 18 revolves around the mysterious death of an old woman named Mary Conrad. Mary was a former police detective and by all accounts was a pain in the neck who swindled people and was generally nasty.

The investigation hits a lot of dead ends because so many people hated Mary but she was also seen as a vulnerable old woman and most of the suspects felt sorry for her. The top suspect is the landlord, because Mary poisoned his dog, but that lead fails to pan out. The detectives end up chasing a not-very-bright suspect all over town only to find he had nothing to do with the murder. Eventually, they figure out who the real murderer is and what his motive was.

Meanwhile, Julio needs to go to court to get guardianship over Mark and won't let Provenza forget it, and Mark longs to call Julio Dad. And Sharon's son Ricky comes for a surprise visit and gets busy trying to resolve all the problems so his mom and Andy can get married in the Catholic church.

Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 18 Quotes

Provenza: She was killed with her old badge?
Julio: She kept it up on this cadenza.
Provenza: Kendall, time of death?
Kendall: Between 9 to 11. She was hit three or four times in the head though only one would have done the job.
Provenza: These are uncertain times.

Provenza: Ah hah! Landlord works quick.
Amy: That's what I thought at first but that sign's been up for a couple months. So you can keep your faith in humanity.
Provenza: I doubt that.
