When you watch Marry Me Season 1 Episode 5, you'll find Annie and Jake deciding to host Thanksgiving. However, Jake has a difficult time breaking the news to his mom, who is always the host. When Annie tells her, Myrna agrees, but Annie knows she will try to undermine her. Gil discovers he has a unique palate for tasting cheeses and comes across a secret illegal cheese tasting. Annie drives herself crazy trying to make their Thanksgiving the best ever. Jake goes to his mother's house and discovers she prepared backup dinner. Jake goes back to Annie telling her they must rally in order to beat his mom. However, nothing can fix their table which was ordered way too small. At dinner, everything falls apart and Annie gives up. Myrna tells Annie that she ruined her very first Thanksgiving as well. All is forgiven and Myrna reveals she has her Thanksgiving food sitting in the car.
