The CBS special is finally ready to be aired but Bill and Virginia aren't that impressed by what they preview. Bill in particular is angry about how much was changed and censored. To top everything off, Doctor Kaufman in California is preparing to release his competing study.

Bill pulls some strings to get their CBS story killed. He thinks he is doing is as a favor. He also gets sent a copy of Kaufman's book. We later find out that Bill actually reached out to old friend and cast-mate, Barton Scully (Beau Bridges.) 

One thing Bill doesn't realize when he kills the story is that Virginia was counting on CBS to help legitimize her work. Her ex husband George and his wife want custody of the children and George and his lawyer were intent on taking Virginia to court and dragging her name through the mud and making her seem unfit. George threatened to reveal the affair and talk about her work.

Virginia gives up the kids and then sobs when she finds out the study will not be airing. In addition, her ex Ethan is Dr. Kaufman's partner. There were several old faces on Masters of Sex Season 2 Episode 12.

Libby continues her affair with Robert and proclaims she is ready to feel. She also acknowledges that she's always known about Bill's affair.

Lester and Barbara are trying to take their relationship to the next level. Austin is upset that Flo things he is a dumb blonde. JFK is elected into office.
