Shelly Long returned this week as Claire's mother, driving her daughter crazy for one specific reason: she brought home Claire's high school boyfriend, Robbie, played by Matt Dillon.

He made inappropriate jokes and references and then took things to a different level when Claire and Jay spotted him making out with Claire' mom. Eeek!

This led to an especially awkward time at Lily's first birthday party. Cam was already upset because Mitchell didn't want him to be Fizbo, while Gloria was nervous to hang out with Jay's ex again, so she took a Valium and washed it down with a shot of tequila.

After Claire finally told her mother off for acting in such a manner, Jay had a nice moment with his ex. But it was quickly ruined when she attacked Gloria, making it clear she had that fling because she still can't get over Jay marrying her. The party was a disaster, but Mitchell knew how to save:
