A comatose Leah is being moved to a secret location by other DRONA Project survivors. When another is found dead after being tortured, the rest gather. Four are shot and killed in broad daylight. CIA Officer Chris Baer escapes in an ambulance. Kilbride butts heads with CIA Officer Rafael Cortes. Kensi determines the shots came from a helicopter. Callen receives a call from Pembrook. He wants to meet and he leaves an address for Callen. Beltran and three others were on that copter. As Pembrook wants, Callen destroys his electronics at the meeting site. He finds a change of clothes and a vehicle key inside the house. Pembrook is waiting with a gun inside the van. Kensi discovers Callen and the van are gone. Cortes says the trio with Beltran are Russian operatives. Pembrook tells Callen he has been monitoring him for 35 years. Callen won't accept his apology. Fatima shows Kilbride Cortes lied about the three people being Russian. Pembrook says Beltran and other DRONA subjects went rogue and became mercenaries, which is why he's been killing them. Pembrook and Callen come under fire from Beltran's team. Pembrook is wounded as they escape. Fatima figures out Cortes is working with Beltran. Callen and Pembrook hide in a server room. Cortes is another defector from Pembrook's team and holds Kilbride at gunpoint. Fatima orchestrates a showdown and takes Cortes out. Fatima uses Cortes's phone to track Beltran then sends Kensi and Rountree there. Hetty pulled Callen from Pembrook's program. Beltran finds only Pembrook in the server room. A hidden Callen shoots Beltran then one other. Kensi and Rountree arrive to stop the other two. Pembrook is taken away by the agencies who used his services. Later he gives Callen his file. Pembrook says Hetty considered Callen her son.
