The NCIS team is called to investigate the murder of a Navy Ensign who, shortly after her throat was slit, crashed her car into a diner.

The dead Ensign is 25 year old Janine Wilt.

The team finds out that she had been working on some classified projects as a cyber warfare engineer with Naval Intelligence, and that she had taken down a Columbian drug lord group that called itself the "Sword of Satan".

Special Agent Ned Dorneget returns to the team to assist in breaking into Wilt's highly secure laptop to find what she was currently investigating. In that search they discover she had been accessing the laptop of a man named Alfredo Montez.

It turns out her target wasn't Alfredo, but his daughter Layna.

Layna tells Gibbs about a chat room she had been involved with, where most of the particpants were negative and disgruntled, and that they had encouraged her to "find her calling". She had disconnected from the group, but had been further harrassed by one member who called himself "hellbent427". He had tried to shame her into returning to the chat room.

She says she had asked Wilt for help in getting away from the group. Wilt had done so by connecting to the laptop remotely, removing the email account and blocking all access from the chat room group.

Gibbs and the team connects "hellbent427" to Wilt's murder, but finds out there's more. After identifying "hellbent427" as a 16 year-old teen named Bradley Simek, they find that his computer has traces of gunpowder on it, as well as plans for a 3D printout of a bomb detonator.

Did "hellbent427" actually kill Wilt? What's his real purpose, and what was he trying to get Layna to do? Why is he interested in building a bomb? What's his end game?

Does the team get to him before he sets off a bomb?
