When you watch New Girl Season 4 Episode 12 online you will get to a front row seat to the police academy graduation for Winston. Winston finally graduates from the academy and while most of the friends are supportive, Nick and Coach have some reservations about Winston's new career path. They feel that Winston is too soft and that he will basically be killed in the line of duty. Nick and Coach are further discouraged by the new career thanks to Winston's training officer, Officer Ali, who they feel because she is a girl and is tiny she won't be able to protect Winston. When the guys follow the partners, Ali proves to them why she is a woman not to mess with; she beats them up and instead of taking them to prison, they take them to a support group for families of officers. At the group they are able to share their feelings/fears to the group without being judged. Meanwhile, Jess and Schmidt are fed up with the constant construction outside their windows. When they got to Winston's graduation they meet a councilwoman who takes a liking to Schmidt and gets him to be her pet. The only problem, the councilwoman is on the opposite side of the noice issue and doesn't want to end the night construction. She convinces Schmidt to talk for her at the council meeting, but things go from bad to worse when Cece distracts Schmidt by talking about the length of his newly tailored jacket. When he is supposed to give his rebuttal he can't help but focus on his suit and loses the argument.
