Schmidt comes up with the idea that since they are all single that they should have a Bangsgiving instead and find each other dates. They put their names in a hat and whomever they choose they have to bring a date to dinner. Coach brings Ryan, Jess's hot teacher crush, and she informs Ryan that nothing can happen between them because she would lose her job and she can't risk that. Jess then goes to her friends and gets their advice on Ryan and they tell her to just go have sex with him and the feelings will go away after and she will be able to move on. Jess brings this up to Ryan but he quickly tells her that he wants no part in just a one-night stand but wants an actual relationship -- he than leaves. Jess gets advice from Nick who tells her that she is afraid of moving on but that she needs to make the decision to take a chance on Ryan. Jess goes to Ryan's house, talks to him and they decide to start a relationship.
Meanwhile, Nick brings Tran as a date and realizes that his perfect woman would be exactly like Tran. Coach meets a kindred spirit in the date that was invited for him -- though he was reluctant at first. Winston faces his fears of lunch ladies and Schmidt/Cece take a step in a possible reconciliation.
