Abby’s looking to adopt a pet fish to fill in her emotional life while she and her partner are doing the long-distance thing. As Helen walks by making another lewd comment at Dan, he bemoans the loss of poetry in flirting.

As Abby takes a call from the fish people, a well-dressed woman approaches Dan. He expresses exasperation at another woman coming at him. She states she just needs directions to the Records Room. Dan apologizes for his assumption. They have a lively conversation and he introduces himself. She’s Julianne.

Gurgs and Olivia find a walled-off office space. Gurgs implies that she’d like some space of her own too. Olivia reluctantly offers to share the office with Gurgs.

At De Bello’s, Dan panics when Julianne arrives and insists Abby and Neil stay. They make awkward conversation for a while.

Abby dumps water on Dan accidentally and sends him to the restroom to clean up. She sends Neil with him so she can talk to Julianne privately.

Julianne shares that she’s looking for a fling. Abby waits for Dan to let him know. This sets him more at ease. When Julianne proposes they get out of there, he jumps at the chance.

In the office, Olivia is having a hard time with Gurgs’s chatter.

At his place, Dan and Julianne get to know each other. Julianne’s looking to jump into bed, while Dan’s stalling.

He starts telling her about how life with Sarah changed him. Julianne reveals that this is all part of a revenge plot she had to get back at him for getting her convicted thirty years ago for setting her ex-boyfriend’s house on fire.

She leaves, telling him to get some help.

Night Court Season 1 Episode 4 Quotes

I hate to spoil all your fun, but my dating dates are behind me. Course there was a time I would’ve killed for this kind of attention. And almost did. Not a human, a chicken. A voodoo doctor back in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, told me that an animal sacrifice would make me irresistible to the fairer sex. Anyway, let’s get back to these weirdos.

Dan

Abby: Am I crazy or has someone been getting a lot of lady attention lately?
Gurgs: Connie from Probate won’t stop talking about the dashing new defense attorney with thick hair and a tush worth a push. Connie’s a big ol’ freak!
